WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The Democratic-led U.S. Home of Representatives on Tuesday voted to provide lawmakers clear authority to sue Trump administration figures who defy congressional subpoenas, starting with former White Home Counsel Don McGahn, who is predicted to face swift motion.

In an escalation of wide-ranging probes of President Donald Trump and his internal circle, lawmakers voted 229-191 alongside social gathering traces to approve the measure. It authorizes Home committees to file lawsuits in federal court docket searching for orders from judges to compel officers to cooperate with official congressional calls for for testimony or proof.
