CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Reuters) – Staff at Volkswagen AG’s meeting plant within the state of Tennessee narrowly voted in opposition to union illustration, dealing a contemporary blow to the United Auto Staff’ (UAW) efforts to unionize a international automaker’s plant within the U.S. South.

The German automaker and the UAW mentioned on Friday that staff on the Chattanooga plant voted 833 to 776 in opposition to union illustration, the second time in 5 years they’ve rejected collective bargaining.
