(Reuters) – A storm churning within the Gulf of Mexico and geared toward water-logged New Orleans is prone to make landfall as the primary Atlantic hurricane of the 2019 season by late Friday or early Saturday, forecasters stated.

The storm, anticipated to be designated a tropical storm early on Thursday, is ready to deposit between 10 to 15 inches of rain on the Gulf Coast on Friday and Saturday from west Texas, by way of New Orleans and the Louisiana coast.
