(Reuters) – Texas executed by deadly injection on Tuesday a person convicted of capturing to loss of life a 61-year-old grandmother as he and his confederate burglarized her residence throughout a week-long crime spree in 2010.

Mark Soliz, 37, was declared useless at 6:32 p.m. CDT (2332 GMT) on the state’s loss of life chamber in Huntsville.
Soliz apologized for his actions minutes earlier than the execution, saying he had modified his life and had discovered God in jail.
